The Impact of COVID-19 on Santorini and Our Boat Hire Business

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted businesses worldwide, and our boat hire business in Santorini is no exception. In response to the evolving situation, we have been closely monitoring the latest guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Greek Health Organization to ensure the safety of both our customers and our team.

We’re happy to report that, as of now, Santorini remains free from any confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is the best news for our beautiful island. However, as you can imagine, this is an unprecedented time, and Santorini is quieter than ever before, with businesses preparing for the summer season in an environment like no other.

Our Santorini Boat Hire business is scheduled to open by the end of May, and we’re hopeful that by early July, most restrictions will ease. We are keeping a close eye on developments globally, especially in countries like the US, UK, Spain, Italy, and Brazil, where the pandemic has had devastating effects. It’s an anxious time for everyone, but the most important thing is for everyone to stay safe.

We’re Still Accepting Bookings for Summer 2020

Despite the uncertainty, we are still accepting bookings for summer 2020. We understand that travel plans may change, so we want to provide you with flexibility during this challenging period. If your flight is canceled or you’re unable to travel, we offer the following options:

  • Reschedule your booking for another date this summer.

  • Transfer your booking to next year with the special offer extended for this summer.

  • Receive a full refund of your deposit.

Our priority is the happiness and safety of our customers, and we’re committed to doing whatever we can to support you during this time.

Precautions and Safety Measures

As we prepare for the summer season, we are implementing enhanced cleaning and safety protocols. We’ll be following government guidelines and taking extra steps to protect both you and us, such as sanitizing lifejackets, using gloves, and disinfecting high-touch areas on our boats. Your safety is our top priority, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience with us.

A Challenging Time for Santorini

This summer is likely to be one of the most difficult for our island. A summer without tourists is a hard reality for many businesses, and it’s a daunting thought to think about how we will survive and continue to operate in the future. However, we remain optimistic that things will improve by July, and we will continue to work hard to provide you with a memorable experience.

Santorini has taken measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, including restricting travel to the island for non-residents. While the situation remains fluid, we are confident that Santorini will remain a safe destination for you to visit when the time is right.

We’re excited to welcome you back, whether it’s this year or next, to explore the stunning Santorini Caldera from the comfort of one of our boats. Until then, we wish you good health and safety, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
